On February 7, 2023, The University of Nairobi (UoN) hosted the opening ceremony of 7th Global Research Network – Belt and Roads Initiative (BRI) hybrid Conference 2023, at the UoN Towers Main Campus. The University of Nairobi is the 1st institution in the African continent to host the BRI Conference.
The launch of the resilience and adaptation mainstreaming program (RAMP) was held at The University of Nairobi Taifa Hall on Wednesday 8th February 2023. RAMP is hosted by WRI and is jointly implemented with the Center for Sustainable Finance at SOAS University of London. The objective of RAMP is to build capacity related to climate risk management within the Ministries of Finance, Economics and Planning and selected local Universities.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama will host Prof. Kirk Schulz, the 11th president of Washington State University and his delegation between Thursday, February 3rd to 8th 2023. The visit cements the already strong strategic partnership between the two universities that culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding in 2016 and will entail meetings with Principal Investigators of the various collaborative projects under implementation as well as explore additional areas of collaboration.
