The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama and the Managing Director, Elgon Kenya Limited, Dr. Bimal Kantaria, toured Kabete Campus on 14th October, 2021 to identify the site for the establishment of the proposed Resource and Innovation Centre. Prof. Kiama and Dr. Bimal Kantaria were accompanied by members of the project committee drawn from various departments in the University, led by Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, the Associate Vice Chancellor Research Innovation and Enterprise. They were received by the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof.

The University Health Services has now been registered as a COVID-19 Vaccination Centre by the Ministry of Health and the Nairobi County Government, through the Nairobi Metropolitan Services.

The Vaccination will commence on Thursday April 8, 2021 at 8.30AM outside of the Main Students Clinic. It should be noted that the University Vaccination Centre will be required to observe Government prioritization guidelines and to comply with COVID-19 health protocols. Dr. Loice Ombajo, a senior lecturer at the University of Nairobi (UoN) was awarded State commendation by President Uhuru Kenyatta during this year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations in Nairobi.

Dr. Ombajo was awarded Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) for her dedicated public service and sacrifice in the fight against COVID-19 in Kenya.

The University of Nairobi Student Association (UNSA) newly elected leaders took the oath of office on November 19, 2020 in a ceremony presided over by the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama.

Did you know that the University of Nairobi Logo is very closely linked to its historical development over a period of 50 years?

On 18th August 2020, the Dept. of Vet.Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology had a video recording session for the learning facilities. The recorded video and images will be used in the orientation of the first years 2020/2021 intake that will take place on 31st August 2020.

The video recording took place in the large animal postmortem room, Embedding room histopathology teaching laboratory, students lectures theatres and Parasitology laboratory.
