Ms. Ann Munene, technical head, Microbiology Laboratory in the Department attended a 3-day workshop at the Eagle Palace in Nakuru County from 6th to 8th May 2024 to develop National guidelines for the containment of priority Multidrug-resistant Organisms (MDRO) pathogens.
SILAB AMR DATA ENTRY TRAINING.
Our dedicated staff Dr. C.m bidyo &Ms. ANN Munene were part of the team that were trained on the 2nd SILAB training aimed to improve on the transmission and quality of AMR data, was undertaken at the Dairy training institute, Naivasha from the 6th to the 8th of April 2022.
The training was through the support of FIND (Foundation for innovative New Diagnostics).

The Africa Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) trains technical microbiologists drawn from human and animal health in laboratory quality management systems (QMS) for AMR surveillance. Our Microbiology section technical head, Ms. Ann Munene, is part of the first cohort in the country for whom "Microbes" is their anthem.
On 14th April 2022, Meru University of Science and Technology had an academic trip to the Department for a hands on practical skills in the Microbiology Section.
