UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI RESEARCH WEEK 2020

This years Research week is the 3rd Annual event hosted by the University of Nairobi in October each year and it will be on October 12-16, 2020. The week features over ten different conferences covering a diverse range of academic disciplines, one of which is bound to meet your interest and area of expertise. 

The conferences provide a forum to enable you to present your work, engage with your colleagues, and learn about the latest developments in your field. 

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI ADMITS HIGHEST NUMBER OF CANDIDATES

The University of Nairobi will admit the highest number of candidates who scored grade A in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), placement results released yesterday indicate.

It will admit 313 of the 630 top students, with Tonny Wabuko Buluma, who was the best student last year, joining the university to study Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.

UON STAFF RECOGNIZED WITH UZALENDO AWARD

Wednesday, June 3, 2020 Three UoN staff have been recognized for their outstanding service in helping the country steer through the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prof. Omu Anzala, Dr. Loice Achieng’ Ombajo and Dr. Marybeth Maritim were among the 68 kenyans who received the award.

The President recognized 68 Kenyans with the Presidential order of service,  Uzalendo award during the 57th Madaraka day ceremony.

HANDING OVER OF THE CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI

The new Confucius Institute Building located on Arboretum Drive, has officially been handed over to the University of Nairobi. The ceremony was presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Prof. George Magoha, who praised the good relationships between Beijing and Nairobi.

Constructed at a cost of 1.4Billion shillings, the new Confucius Building hosts a number of lecture halls, conference facilities, accommodation facilities, staff offices and Chinese Language research offices and language libraries.
