EMBU COUNTY SIGNS PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH UON

The University of Nairobi signed a partnership agreement with Embu County government on 22nd December, 2022.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiama Gitahi, observed that the University values partnerships.

‘’As a University we would like to add value to our partners. Our department of plant science has been collaborating with Embu County in the field of value addition in agricultural produce” Prof. Kiama said.

The University established fresh produce aggregation centre at Karurumo in Embu County in 2018.

UoN 68TH GRADUATION CEREMONY 2022

The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2021/2022) and members of the public, that the 68th Graduation Ceremony will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, December 16, 2022 commencing at 8.00 a.m. at Taifa Hall.

UON DEVELOPS A STRATEGIC PLAN ON DISABILITY MAINSTREAMING

After the recently established Disability Policy at UoN; the disability mainstreaming committee spearheaded a retreat as one of its implementation efforts. The objective of the retreat was to develop a strategic plan and visualize the milestones towards the establishment of a Disability Support Centre.

The 2-day retreat was held on October 20-21,2022 at the Kenya Institute of Special Education and developed a strategic plan for 2023-2028 for Disability Mainstreaming at UoN.

UON TO LAUNCH GENDER DESK, DEVELOP MENTAL HEALTH POLICY: O3 PLUS IMPLEMENTATION

As of December 1, 2022, the University community can walk in a Gender desk and anonymously report cases of Gender based violence, rape and any other form of abuse and receive immediate clinical and psychological care.

This was among the approvals that the O3 Plus Institutional Working Group (IWG) was seeking when they paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kiama on Tuesday, 18th October, 2022.

VISIT BY FAULTY OF VETERINARY SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF PRETORIA

Prof Daniel Qekwana, Head of Department of Para-clinical Sciences, University of Pretoria in South Africa visited Department of Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology, University of Nairobi Kenya on September22nd and 23rd. THIKA T.T.I STUDENTS EDUCATIONAL TRIP 12-10-2022

Thika T.T.I. Students visited the Department of Vet.Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology on 12th October 2022.

The Chairman of the Dept. and the Chief Technologist made a welcome remarks.

The students visited two sections i.e. Histopathology and Parasitology Sections.
