The chairman, Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology & Parasitology held a meeting in the Large Pathology Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 13th January 2021 starting at 2.00pm. The meeting was to welcome the BVM 2 students who reported on Monday 11th January 2021 for face to face interactions.
Accompanied by the head of Microbiology Section, Prof. C.G. Gitao, and Senior Technologists representing all the sections, the students were welcomed and introduced to the department. Prof. Gitao took them through what is expected of them and how their attitude towards their studies will contribute to their success or failure. The chairman emphasized on the need to adhere to the COVID 19 guidelines and protocols. He informed them that the Department had made adequate preparations and made available enough hand washing stations around the department. He encouraged the students to utilize these facilities and strictly adhere to the protocols.
The technologists assured the students of the department’s preparedness for their face to face practical sessions. They will be divided into small group and will alternate between Microbiology and Parasitology to adhere to the guidelines for social and physical distancing.
The students thanked the university for recalling them for face to face interactions and promised to adhere to the guidelines. They also voiced their concerns which they would like to be addressed.
