DONATION OF LCD PROJECTORS BY THE BVM CLASS OF 1980

Representative of the BVM Class of 1980 visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine on Friday January 22, 2021 and donated two LCD Projectors for use by both faculty and students. The donation was in commemoration of the University of Nairobi’s 50 years cerebration, from July 2020 to June 2021. TheUniversity of Nairobi was formed in July 1970, following the dissolution of the Umiversity of East Africa.

The BVM Class of 1980 has an association, which was represented by Dr. Purity Nguhiu (Treasurer), Dr. David Ngigi (Secretary) and Dr. Peter B. Gathura (Chairman). Also present from this class were Prof. George Chege Gitao of the Department of Vet. Pathology, Microbiology & Parasitology, University of Nairobi and Dr. Joshua Wathanga.

The Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was accompanied by Ms Esther Wainaina (Faculty Senior Adminstration Assistant), Dr. Kavoi (representing Chairman, Department of Vet. Anatomy & Physiology), Dr. Philemon Towett (Associate Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine),  Prof. James Nguhiu-Mwangi (Chairman, Department of Clinical Studies) and Prof. Samuel Githigia (Chairman, Department of Vet. Pathology, Microbiology & Parasitology). The Chairman Public Health Pharcology & Toxicology was represented by Dr. Peter B. Gathura.

 

The Dean thanked the class of 1980 for giving back to their alma mater and supported a suggestion of further collaboration between the class and the faculty. It was agreed that this collaboration will start with guest lectures to fourth and fifth year students from Dr. Ngugi, Dr. Purity Nguhiu and Dr. Joshua Wathanga.
