The University of Nairobi Council on Monday 16, 2024 visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to gain an in-depth understanding of its academic processes, research initiatives, and supporting infrastructure.

The Council was received by the Dean and Faculty management committee members, where the Dean introduced them to the council.

During the visit, they explored the faculty’s academic programs, and overall quality assurance mechanisms.

UoN’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine launched a state of the art Animal Health, Molecular and Diagnostics laboratory. Students from the Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology had the opportunity to conduct extensive practical experiments in Toxicity studies on Paragon Insecticidal spray formulation.

Toxicity studies in the animal models are done to determine the dose level recommended for the treatment of disease. Toxicity testing is paramount in the screening of newly developed drugs before it can be used on animals.
