UoN SHINES AT KENYA NATIONAL DRAMA AND FILM FESTIVAL 2023

The University of Nairobi Travelling Theatre (UNTT) got the opportunity to participate in this year’s Kenya National Drama and Film Festival which was held in Mombasa county, Shimo La Tewa School and Shanzu Technical College. For the first time, UNTT partnered with Modern Artist University Of Nairobi (MAUN) Kikuyu campus to represent the school in the festival. This partnership proved to be successful artistically as both groups were able to integrate to achieve success for the school.

STUDENTS RECOGNITION AWARDS CEREMONY

The University will award over 800 outstanding students in academic, talent, research and publications, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, Leadership, Volunteerism and  Sports and Games through an award ceremony on Friday, May 5, 2023 in Taifa Hall at 9:00 am-11:30am

COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH VISIT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW

The research visit at the University of Glasgow, Scotland UK, facilitated by the Everyday Clean project under the One Health Initiative. The project is collaborative research between University of Glasgow, International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and University of Nairobi that aims to explore hygiene practices in semi urban population of Kware community in Kajiado, County Kenya.

UON RECEIVES THE BEST ICT ACADEMY AWARD 2022

On Friday February 24, 2023 at the Serena Hotel, the University of Nairobi (UoN) was awarded  ‘The Best ICT Academy 2022’ during the Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023 Award Ceremony, since the signing of a Collaborative Agreement in 2018. This is the second time UoN has been recognized.

ICT staff members, George Ndegwa and Ruth Wambua were also recognized and awarded as the best instructors 2022.

UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW COLLABORATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT

Our staff MS. Ann Munene in collaborative research with University of Glasgow, UK under the “Everyday Clean Project”. The research has been exploring the community hygiene practices under One- Health contexts in Kajiado County, Kenya’

EMBU COUNTY SIGNS PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH UON

The University of Nairobi signed a partnership agreement with Embu County government on 22nd December, 2022.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiama Gitahi, observed that the University values partnerships.

‘’As a University we would like to add value to our partners. Our department of plant science has been collaborating with Embu County in the field of value addition in agricultural produce” Prof. Kiama said.

The University established fresh produce aggregation centre at Karurumo in Embu County in 2018.
