Prof Daniel Qekwana, Head of Department of Para-clinical Sciences, University of Pretoria in South Africa visited Department of Veterinary Pathology, Microbiology and Parasitology, University of Nairobi Kenya on September22nd and 23rd. This physical meeting followed two consultative meetings held virtually between members of the two departments to discuss further collaborations is areas of:
1. Undergraduate and Postgraduate training
2. Research areas - AMR, Food Safety, Pathology, Toxicology and Pharmacology
3. Staff and Student Mobility, and
4. Facilities and Research platforms
After this very successful meeting, 12 concept notes on areas of possible research collaboration and a draft memorandum of agreement were shared with faculty members of both institutions. Both partners are engaged and building teams in readiness to the upcoming virtual meeting scheduled on Monday 24th October, 2022 starting at 2.00 pm (East African Time).
