ALUMNI ASSOCIATION DONATES HAND WASHING STATIONS

The University of Nairobi Alumni Association handed   over six handwashing stations worth Kenya Shillings 461, 606 to the University to help in the containment of covid-19.  The stations are a welcome gesture in the university’s fight against Covid-19 even as the University prepares to recall all students for on campus learning.

While handing over the equipment, the Associations’ vice chairperson Dr. Anne Assey said they are working towards getting more members on board so as to increase their scope and benefits to the university.

While receiving the hand washing stations on behalf of the University, Prof. Julius Ogeng’o (Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs) scored the importance of the equipment and urged other departments within the university to help the university maintain the required guidelines in order to curb the spread of Corona virus. He commended the UoN Alumni Association (UoNAA) for the donation and said it would go a long way in saving lives. He observed that hand washing is the most effective containment measure for covid-19 at the moment.

Other than the donation, the Alumni Association also plays an important role in the university by bringing together the university’s alumni fraternity to get involved in various projects such as providing scholarships to students and creating vital partnerships for the university.

The hand washing stations will be distributed to all the colleges and campuses within the university.
