868 DELEGATES, 347 PRESENTATIONS AT RESEARCH WEEK 2020

The 3rd Research Week kicked off on a high note on October 12, 2020 with six conferences starting their proceedings. A total of 13 conferences will run during the weeklong event. Albeit, virtual, this year’s Research Week numbers are quite impressive: 868 global participants from academia, government and industry, 347 presentations and 40+ keynote presentations is quite a mean fete.

FLEMMING FUND TEAM VISIT TO DEPARTMENT

Representatives of Flemming fund, including members of Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation, visited the refurbished microbiology laboratory of VPMP department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kabete, on 6th October 2020, to assess progress towards readiness for start of Antimicrobial resistance surveillance exercise. The visit was part of activities for the AMR poultry surveillance protocol dissemination workshop – Nairobi circuit which was held on 5-6th October 2020 at Limuru.

All graduates of the 63rd Congregation for the conferment of degrees and award of diplomas held on September 25, 2020 are requested to collect their certificates at the University of Nairobi Central Examinations Centre, Chiromo Campus in the following order:

1.  MONDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2020 – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2020-ALL MASTERS DEGREES AND                     POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMAS

2. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2020 – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2020-     BACHELORS DEGREES ONLY FOR:

2851 GRADUATE AT VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY

A record 2,851 graduands were conferred degrees and awarded diplomas by the Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi at the 63rd Graduation Ceremony on September 25, 2020 held at the Great Court.

The graduates who followed the ceremony virtually consisted of 54 Doctor of Philosophy Degree Awards (PhDs), 370 Master Degree Awards, 15 Postgraduate Diploma Awards, 2045 Bachelor Degree Awards and 367 Diploma Awards.

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI RESEARCH WEEK 2020

This will be the first Research Week event to held online due to on going COVID 19 pandemic. The 3rd Annual event hosted by the University of Nairobi will be  in October from 12th to 16th,  2020.

The week features over ten different conferences covering a diverse range of academic disciplines, one of which is bound to meet your interest and area of expertise. The conferences provide a forum to enable you to present your work, engage with your colleagues, and learn about the latest developments in your field. 

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI LAUNCHES HULT PRIZE STUDENTS COMPETITION

Hult Prize Students Competition has officially been launched by the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama. The launch took place on September 4, 2020 at the Council Chambers. The winner will get US$ 1 million (Kshs 100 million) to implement their projects.
