TRAINING ON DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES FOR SURVEILLANCE OF ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANT ORGANISMS IN KENYA

The Directorate of Veterinary Services with the collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN and the University of Nairobi Conducted a three(3) day training of Veterinary Laboratory staff on Diagnostic Techniques for Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance Organisms in Kenya.

The Training took place on 5th - 7th September 2018 at the University of Nairobi, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS), Dept. of  Veterinary Pathology,Microbiology and Parasitology.

The Objective of this Training is to Impart knowledge and skills to technologists deployed int he Microbiology sections of Veterinary Laboratories on bacterial identification, antimicrobial sensitivity testing  and the basics of antimicrobial resistance as an intergral part of AMR surveillance.
